Welcome to the Women’s Ministry at Shadycrest Baptist Church where we are committed to meeting the needs and contributing to the spiritual growth of women in the church and the community. We strive to connect with women of all ages - from the busy young mother, to the working career woman or the active senior - and encourage them to experience a life of grace that is Christ-centered and full of meaning, passion, and purpose. Please join us in the various ministries and activities offered by the Women’s Ministry throughout the year.
Our purpose is that we may be encouraged in heart and knit together in love, so that we may have all the full riches of complete understanding, in order that we may know Christ…. Colossians 2:2-3

What to Bring:
Two projects during the year in support of this ministry. Baby bottles will be given out on Mother’s Day for members to fill with change and bring back by Fathers Day. Also a Baby Shower for the Center in the fall. Maybe you’d be interested in volunteering as well!
The Center for Pregnancy is a non-profit ministry supported by local churches and individuals. It is located in Friendswood, Texas and serves the entire Bay Area. The Center provides an environment of acceptance and warmth with the goal of making an unplanned pregnancy in a woman's life as easy as possible to face.
Since the Supreme Court decision of Roe v. Wade in 1973, which legalized abortion on demand, almost 40 million babies have lost their lives through abortion in our country. The Center for Pregnancy believes in the worth and dignity of every individual, including the unborn child. Studies have proven that by eight weeks of age, an infant , at little more than an inch long, has all major organs in place and working. Medical studies have well documented the fact that life begins at conception.
Discovery of an unexpected pregnancy can be a time when a woman may feel a variety of emotions, ranging from fear and panic to worried and overwhelmed. Abortion is the solution offered by many for women experiencing a crisis pregnancy. Research reveals, however, that women often suffer physical and /or psychological damage that can be linked to their abortion. Often women who find themselves in a crisis preganancy feel there is no other solution to their problem. They believe they have no other alternative to help provide for them or their unborn children. More than 90% of the women who have had abortions say they would not have done so if they had been better informed about child development in the womb and about abortion procedures.
The Center for Pregnancy offers the alternatives and the help needed so that women may choose life for their babies and themselves.
Here's how Shadycrest Baptist Church members can help:
Several times during the year Shadycrest offers Bible studies focusing specifically on women's needs and issues. Bible studies meet Sunday morning and Tuesday morning. Childcare is provided for most studies. Call the church office for more information. 281-485-1481.
These materials are rooted in foundational Biblical principles. Author Linda Anderson drew from her academic and professional experience as an educator, from countless books, articles, and interviews on parenting, and from "mom" experience — her own and the stories of hundreds of moms she knows and interacts with on a regular basis. The curriculum has been "market-tested" by hundreds of mothers during the past nine years.
Wednesday Nights 6:30-7:30
Jesus called this ordinary man for an extraordinary purpose. Simon the fisherman would become Peter the Rock. This outspoken Galilean would lead Christ’s church, stand strong in the face of persecution, and even refuse to waver when faced with death.
Unshakable Faith is an eight-session Bible study that explores the life and teachings of the Apostle Peter. Participants will be eye witnesses to Peter’s spiritual growth as God strengthens and matures his fragile faith. They will discover eight key "faith traits" God developed in Peter as he followed Christ and learned from Him.
Participants will walk with Peter as he walked with Jesus. They will learn what Peter learned. Then they’ll be challenged to apply it to their own lives. Study participants will not only gain a solid knowledge of Peter’s life and teaching, they will also build a foundation on which God can grow an unshakable faith that will weather every storm they encounter.
"Every disciple and early follower of Christ left a legacy for future believers. John's legacy was love. Perhaps like no other disciple, John understood that relationship is the point. Every command of Christ and call to obedience is to enhance relationship and place the recipient in a posture the Giver can bless. This study is about finding our way to the heart of Jesus and reclining so closely that our pulse begins to throb in tandem, loving what He loves and hating what He hates."
Tuesday Mornings 9:00-11:00
Takes a look at the pilgrimage theme found in Psalms 120 134 and explores the major feasts of Israel. For the ancient Israelites, pilgrimage was a three-times-per-year journey to the temple in Jerusalem; for New Testament believers all of life becomes a journey together toward the new Jerusalem.
